Choosing the beaches that impressed us the most around Malaga and in Gibraltar. You can find them clearly marked on our travel map.
Playa de Santa Barbara
Playa de Santa Barbara– sandy beach in the town of La Linea de la Conception with a view of the Rock of Gibraltar. If you want to bring shells from your vacation, don’t miss this place – you will find beautiful shapes here and collect them in abundance. The water is clean, but beware of occasional jellyfish. You can also watch the landing or takeoff of planes from Gibraltar Airport.
Sandy Bay
Sandy Bay – sandy beach on the eastern side of Gibraltar, lined with rocks on the sides. Nowadays, there were many jellyfish here, so the bathing flag was red, but otherwise it is a very relaxing beach with facilities. The best view of it is from the Rock of Gibraltar.
Playa de Bolonia
Playa de Bolonia – our #1 beach with white sand and a large sand dune at the end that can be climbed. Tranquil clean water without jellyfish. There is a large paid parking lot, but crowds start to gather for lunch, so it’s better to come early. Near the beach, you can visit archaeological excavations.
Playa de los Alemanes (German Beach)
Playa de los Alemanes (German Beach) – a large, beautiful sandy beach located on the opposite side of the hill from Bolonia Beach. Clean water without jellyfish, during our time there were bigger waves for some crazy fun.
Playa del Palmar
Playa del Palmar – also a large sandy beach, located to the west of the previous two. If you have enough time, it’s worth a visit.
